油麻古藤花的魅力是你必来天峡的理由。原主产于云南、福建等地油麻藤，在大别山区天峡密集分布，贯穿于4km长的九连环瀑布景区，其直径10cm以上油麻古藤有3000多株，实为世间罕见。有“天峡植物三宝”之称的油麻古藤，4月中旬开放，花期长约2个月，紫色大花，成串，非常讨人喜欢，而且，当你离它很远就能闻到其独特的淡淡的花香，走入天峡，你可以随处可见那藤缠藤、藤缠树、藤缠石的奇特景观。
